03/11/08 Featured Match Prediction Newcastle v Aston Villa

Tip Code 013.

Newcastle collected a well needed 3 points against West Brom last week but Aston Villa will be a completely different game. This match is well worth a bet.

The victory against West Brom lifted them out of the relegation zone and they currently sit in 17th place. West Brom were on the end of 3 consecutive defeats following that game and form was not on their side. Aston Villa will be very different. Currently high flying in 4th position and thought of by a lot of people as being the team to shake the big 4 Aston Villa will be a tough game for Newcastle.

Aston Villa’s form has been near perfect only sustaining one defeat in their last 8 games which was to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neil has more or less at full squad at his disposal. Gabby Agbonlahor is fully fit and John Carew is likely to start this week if his strip club differences have been fully resolved wit his boss. This pair has played a major part in Villa’s success this season and expect them to test Newcastle’s defence on Monday night.

Newcastle expect to see the return of Michael Owen and Nicky Butt but this has not yet been confirmed. They will still be without Alan Smith and Mark Viduka. Newcastle’s form is the opposite of Aston Villa’s. They have claimed just 1 win in their last 8 matches and although their last match was a victory it was against significantly lesser opposition.

The bet for this game will be the away win. Aston Villa will be far too much for Newcastle and the fact they they are away from home will only increase the odds. With odds of 2.5 Aston Villa are a steal to win this match.
