Has last weeks fixture against Stoke unsettled the Arsenal side?

Last weekend Arsenal took on Stoke and suffered a 2-1 defeat. It wasn’t just the loss of points that cost the London side but the injury and suspension of 3 key players. Both Emmanuel Adebayor and Theo Walcott were carried off injured whilst Robin van Persie was dismissed. Not the best time for this to happen with a tie against Manchester United the following weekend. Manchester United on the other hand have more or less a full strength side at their disposal with only Owen Hargreaves and Paul Scholes unavailable.

Both teams played Champions League matches midweek and neither side was able to secure a victory. Manchester United were forced to come from behind against Celtic to draw 1-1 and Arsenal played out a goal less draw. Form of late lies with the away side. Last season Arsenal were only able to take a single point away from the two fixtures and at that time they were flying high at the top of the table and full of confidence.

 This weekend Manchester United will be far too strong for Arsenal and last weeks disaster match against stoke will prove to be costly in the long term. Manchester United, known for their attacking prowess will have little to do defensively against Arsenal’s B team strike force. Priced at 2.46 the Manchester United win is a bargain.
