In the first round of the group stage Bordeaux were absolutely destroyed by Chelsea 4 goals to nil. This was Scolari’s first Champions League game in charge of Chelsea and what a performance in was. But a fortnight ago in the same competition Chelsea sustained their first defeat European defeat under the new boss and a was quite a blow. Chelsea lost 3-1 to Roma in what was their worst performance this season. Bordeaux will be a difficult place to go. French football is renowned for it’s defence nature and the home side will be very tough to break down.

This is a very tight group indeed with 3 teams hopeful of qualification. Chelsea sit at the top just 1 point clear of Bordeaux and Roma.
