Chelsea fans celebrate as United are held to a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park.

United started dominant show clear signs that they wanted to seal the deal as quickly as possible. A spanner was thrown into the works however when on 21 minutes Roque Santa Cruz hit home a cross at close range.

Following the break United came out strong testing Blackburn keeper Brad Friedel on numerous occasions. They had a strong claim for a penalty when Michael Carrick’s header at goal hit Brett Emerton’s lower arm.

A point was rescued on 87 minutes by Carlos Tevez heading home from close range. The game has left the tile race wide open and given more interest to next Sunday’s game at Stamford Bridge.
