Bolton 2 Sunderland 0
Bolton move out of the relegation zone on the penultimate Premiership weekend with a 2-0 win over Sunderland.Roy Keane’s men are already safe from relegation but Bolton are far from it. In recent seasons Bolton have been rubbing shoulders with the big boys at the other end of the table but with the departure of Big Sam Alladice at the start of this season it has been very different.
Knowing that a win was a must Bolton pressed from the start. They found themselves presented with good opportunities time and time again but were not able to take advantage. A well deserved goal came for the home side just before half time. El Hadji Diouf from a tight angle curled the ball into the top right corner.
A little bit of luck in the battle for relegation can go a long way. Danny Murphy headed down a Bolton corner which crossed his own goal line. 2-0 Bolton.
El Hadji Diouf did a lap of honor around the Reebok Stadium at the end of the match as this could possibly be his last game for Bolton Wanderers in front of home fans this season. He certainly gave them something to remember today.
