Chelsea Close in on Robinho

Chelsea move even closer today in closing out a deal for Robinho with Real Madrid.Yesterday on Chelsea’s official website they announced that they have made an offer to Madrid to the sum of £19.7 million for the Brazilian. It had been previously thought that the Premiership giants had put in an offer closer to £48 million.

Chelsea CEO Peter Kenyon has said that although the Robinho movement had seemingly phased out, he believes that the blues are very close to putting signatures on papers. He also stated that the main cause for the delay was the fact that Real Madrid wanted to find a replacement for Robinho before they would allow him to move on.

Robinho has said that it would be a dream to be united with his countryman Luiz Felipe Scolari and hopes for the opportunity to join Chelsea.

Robinho would offer a new dimension to the way in which Chelsea play football. He is a player with pace and creativity and used to the high tempo game of Real Madrid.

More news on the move later this week.
