Blackburn defeat Everton in a 5 goal thriller.
Everton have their work cut out to improve on last seasons campaign and did not get off to the best of starts.
David Dunn opened up the scoring on 22 minutes with an absolutely superb strike but Mikel Arteta levelled up on the stroke of half time from a set piece. On 64 minutes Arteta played a cross onto the head of Yakubu to put Everton in front. The visitors soon caught up as the ball was slid in by Roque Santa Cruz. Rovers went in for the kill in the last minute of the game. Ryan Nelsen hit the post and Ooijer pushed it over the line.
