Fulham are achieving the unthinkable as the beat Birmingham at home by 2 goals to 0.
Two weeks ago Fulham were written off and were tipped by most to join Derby in next years Championship. Since then Fulham have played stronger than they have played all season and a string of results see’s them making one of the best breaks for freedom in Premiership history.
The first half ended goaless and it was clear that a clean sheet was essential for both sides. Brian McBride did break the deadlock on 52 minutes as he headed in a cross from Jimmy Bullard. Erik Nevland broke free of the Birmingham defence to score Fulham’s 2nd on 89 minutes.
Fulham are sill 2nd from bottom but are now on equal points with Reading. Next week they travel to Portsmouth. With Pompey having one eye on the FA cup final Fulham will know that they have an excellent chance of survival next weekend.
