Liverpool 1 Chelsea 1

Chelsea handed a a massive boot when John Arne Risse scores own goal in 94th minute. It looked to be another frustrating Champions League semi final tie for Chelsea and the usual European mission for Liverpool. Liverpool began the game more than dominant with the ball rarely in their own half. A good percentage of the possession and a range of shots put them firmly in the driving seat.

Petr Cech was forced to make some fantastic saves and Chelsea were forced to send long balls out to the lone striker Didier Drogba who was closely marked and seemed out of sorts against the Liverpool back four.

A few minutes from time a well controlled move from Dirk Kuyt and a tap in through Cech’s legs saw the home side in front. It was no more than they deserved.

Midway through the second half Chelsea stepped up a gear. Avram Grant urged the away goal by bringing on Nicholas Anelka to play alongside Drogba forfeiting Michael Ballack. Chelsea continued to press and in the 94th minute of the game substitute John Arne Risse headed a Chelsea cross into the back of his own net and completely turned the tie and handing Chelsea that crucial away goal.

Could Avram be heading that one step further than Jose.
