Italy’s chances of qualification look bleak and Romania just miss out on Victory.

Romania were supposed to be the side that all teams would get 3 points from in the group of death but they have showed that they are contenders like everyone else. The first half ended goalless but on 57 minutes ex Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu put the Romanians in front. The celebrations however were to last no more than a minute as on 58 minutes Christian Panucci equalised. The Romanians then dominated the rest of the game. On 81 minutes Romania were awarded a penalty. Mutu stepped up but was denied by a fantastic safe by Buffon. Group C remains completely open.
