Roma just can’t seem to find the formula to crack the code of the Premiership Champions. Utd have dented Roma’s pride in previous meetings but today it was a case of getting the job done. United started without their three key players: Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes. They where replaced by Carlos Tevez, Anderson, Park and Pique.
Going to the Theatre of Dreams with a 2 goal deficit meant that there was little hope for the Itaian side, until 15 minutes from half time Wes Brown brought down Daniele De Rossi resulting in a spot kick. Rossi took it on him self to take the penalty and with the pressure on his shoulders put it 2 foot over the cross bar.
Midway through the 2nd half Utd claimed yet another win against AS Roma with the perfect header from Carlos Tevez.
Manchester United 1 - 0 AS Roma
30′ D.D. Rossi (missed penalty kick)
70′ [1 - 0] C.A. Tevez
Barcelona 1 Schalke 04 0 (2-0 Aggegate)

With Barcelona’s league form being something of concern of late Schalke had a great opportunity for potential upset. But an upset is what we got. Barcelona closed out the tie with just the one goal from Yaya Toure. With few chances and little creativity Schalke posed little threat to the Barcelona defence. The Champions League is Rikard’s last opportunity for a trophy this season, and this week saw his site move into the semi final. Next stop Manchester Utd.
Final score Barcelona 1 Schalke 0.

Another Champions League epic at Anfield!!! Arsenal go within 7 minutes of qualification for the semi final but the 2005 champions find a way through in the final minutes.
13′ [0 - 1] A. Diaby
30′ [1 - 1] S. Hyypia
69′ [2 - 1] F. Torres
84′ [2 - 2] E.S. Adebayor
85′ [3 - 2] S. Gerrard (penalty kick)
90 [4 - 2] R. Babel
The last four meetings between the two sides have all ended stalemate and with exactly the same score line of 1-1. With the two sides facing each other for the 3rd time in the space of eight days and a place in the Champions League semi final at stake, something had to give.
With Liverpool having an away goal under their belts the start the game with a small advantage but this was soon struck off with the first goal from Diaby.
Chelsea 2 Fenerbache 0 (3-2 Aggregate)
